Speaking openly on the Ariel Helwani #THEMMAHOUR show, Cynthia revealed that she used marijuana on Christmas Eve, which was six days before her UFC 219 fight performance. Cynthia who lives in the state of California where Marijuana use for recreation was just passed, stated that she had a medical marijuana card for over 2 years.
Speaking about the situation Cynthia went on to say she believes Body Armor dropped her as a sponsor after her drug-testing failure for Marijuana at UFC 219.
USADA uses 180 ng/mL, and UFC strawweight Cynthia Calvillo tested at over 180 ng/mL, at an in-competition test at UFC 219 in Las Vegas. USADA gave Cynthia a 6 month suspension which started Dec. 30th and with the completion of a USADA approved drug awareness program could have her suspension reduced to 90 days.

Unfortunately the NSAC decided to impose additional sanctions. Fining Cythina a told of 6, 125$ or 15% of her fight purse and an additional 436.08$ in attorney fees, Calvillo will have to pa the fines and serve a nine month suspension before being able to return back to competition. Nevada, the state Cynthia fought UFC 219 has approved legalized use of recreation cannabis, however the NSAC has not removed it from the prohibited list.
