No other fighter in the history of the sport of Mixed Martial Arts has competed in 20 World Championship fights.  Cyborg who has an incredible 18-1-1 record during those 20 World Championship fights put together another legendary performance Saturday night in Lyon France in front of a sold out crowd of over 10,000 fans as she earned just the second submission of her 20 year career when she secured the 3rd round RNC submission against former Australian National Judo Player Sara Collins as the Co Main event of the PFL Europe 4 fight card.

Undefeated in professional boxing and currently ranked 6th in the world in that sport, Cyborg made her return to MMA after a year away where she focused on boxing after winning the PFL MMA SuperFight world title by defeating Larissa Pacheco by decision in Riyadh Saudi Arabia.  Showing a strong ability in the striking Cris used her range to patiently plan her attacks utilizing kicks, punches, and knees to systematically wear down her Australian opponent.

Midway through the third round Collins was able to utilize a Osoto Gari throw landing in the Judo Side Control KasaKatame position before Cris Cyborg was able to escape and take the back securing the rear neck choke to get the victory.  The finish was only the 2nd submission in Cyborg’s 20 year career matching the RNC victory she earned over Arlene Blencowe back in Bellator.

A Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belt under Cobrinha from Team Alliance, Cyborg is a 2x IBJJF World Champion in the Kimono and an ADCC Medalist.  With her most recent accomplishments, Cyborg has once again cemented herself as one of the best female fighters in all of combat sports, not just MMA.   Immediately following the fight Cyborg suggested to fans a retirement fight against former Bellator MMA number 1 contender Leah McCourt while also suggesting a super fight at Bantamweight against the 125lbs champion Dakota Ditcheva where both fighters would meet int he middle and fight at 135lbs.  While Cyborg previously had said she could not make Bantamweight and compete healthy, she has now came forward saying that at 40 years of age she is carrying much less muscle than she did in her 20’s and 30’s making the weight cut possible for one final super fight.  Do you think Cyborg X Dakota Ditcheva is the fight to make?
