Fans of MMA Grand Slam Champion Cris Cyborg were excited to hear it announced last week that the Mixed Martial Arts superstar would be making her first professional Boxing Ring Sunday Sept. 25th in her native hometown of Curitiba Brazil against former 4x World Title Challenger and former Brazilian National Boxing Champion Simone Silva who is a boxing veteran of over 40 professional fights. Cyborg who has never had a professional fight will find herself against an opponent with almost 300 rounds of professional boxing experience on her resume.
The Event will take place inside the Arena da Baixada soccer stadium and will feature a full fight card mixed of MMA and Boxing action in a Hibred event that will be finalized by a concert by Brazilian singer Wesley Safadao. Also featured on the Co Main event is Brazilian Boxing legend Acelino PoPó who is considered the most accomplished Brazilian boxer of all time, who will be having a bout against Chute Boxe legend Pelé Landy who infamously defeated Anderson Silva during two separate Muay Thai fights, and went on to defeat both Pat Militech and Matt Hughes in MMA bouts, establishing him as one of Brazil’s most legendary Vale Tudo fighters. An influencer bout between Christian Figueiredo and Funk star Dynho Alves round out the event which will also feature a pair of UFC veterans, the debut of Wanderlia Silva’s son, and a few legendary Curitibano fighters which is guaranteed to make for an exciting night of entertainment.
