After a 2 year hiatus, Brazil welcomed back the ”March for Jesus” May 21st as the event was being held for a historic 28th time, with the march taking place in Cris Cyborg’s home city of Curitiba Brazil.
Cyborg the sports only Grand Slam Champion, having won World Championships for Bellator MMA, UFC, Invicta, and Strikeforce at the 145lbs featherweight division, was invited as a guest to attend the march with the distinction of being represented on the President of Brazil’s vehicle throughout the proceedings.
While some consider the 38th president of Brazil a controversial figure, President Jair Bolsonaro had a long career as a Paratrooper Captain in the Brazilian Army and was elected as a member of the conservative Social Liberal Party now representing the Alliance of Brazil.

The March for Jesus brought over 300,000 followers of Jesus Christ and Christianity through the streets of Curitiba Brazil, the largest most advanced city in the South of the Country for a day of praise and worship as the group marched through the heart of the city singing worship songs and giving words of prayer throughout the communities.
Cris Cyborg a Christian who shares her faith through her ring entrances, fight night uniforms, and through community activism was a great selection to be featured on the presidents caravan as she was born and raised in Curitiba. The Curitibana competed at UFC 198 in her home town to a crowd of over 50,000 fans–the last time she has competed in Brazil and the only time the UFC visited Curitiba despite the ticketing success.
