Cris Cyborg has been out of the MMA cage since her October 2023 victory over Cat Zingano which was a first round KO victory. Following that performance, with nothing on the calendar being booked, she scheduled a professional boxing fight against Kelsey Wickstrum who was ranked #3 in the USA and undefeated at the time.
With an 81 second KO of Kelsey Wickstrum, keeping her undefeated Boxing record in tact–Cyborg quickly looked for a return fight in MMA. Accepting a fight with Kayla Harrison, only to discover the former PFL Champion left the organization through free agency, followed by an attempt to make a bout with Leah McCourt in Belfast Ireland—Cyborg has now asked for a matchup with Larissa Pacheco to me made at some point in the first half of 2024.
With no clear indication of a fight announcement, Cyborg most recently joined James Lynch where she told him her goal was to stay active and that if Larissa Pacheco was not going to be ready to compete that she would be stepping back into the Boxing Ring, a few days later it seems those plans are even closer to being announced as Cyborg took to social media to say she would be returning to the sport of professional boxing with nothing booked during the first half of 2024 on her MMA contract.
