The UFC’s continued global expansion continued with their visit the the RAC Arena in Perth Western Australia Saturday. The main event featured at the Australian fighter facing against the former UFC Title Challenger Dominick Reyes who had won 3 consecutive fights after 4 defeats and was headed to the top of the division. Mommy Crute picked up a submission in the light heavyweight division with a “reverse can opener” to pick up a win.
Ulber scored the KO victory with just over 30 seconds left in the 1st round forcing UFC veteran ref Mar Goddard to stop the fight. With the victory Ulber has now moved to 13-1 in the division and is looking to be in title contention soon. Jack Jenkins picked up a decision over Ramon Taveras.
Controversy in the Neil Magny and Jake Matthews fight as it appeared ref Jim Perdios stopped the fight with 1 second left in the 1st round only to have it continued and explained the round was finished with Magny picking up a submission in the third round via bravo choke. Tom Nolan, Navajo Stirling Cameron Roston, Jamie Mullarkey, and Colby Thicknesse all picked up wins.
Michelle Montague made her UFC debut at 135lbs after going 6-0 at featherweight and being ranked for a chance at a fight with PFL MMA Champion Cris Cyborg. Similar to Kayla Harrison Montague is a grappling sensation. Brando Periciic and Alexia Thainara also picked up win at the UFC Australia fight night.
