Bellator MMA’s Featherweight Champion Cris Cyborg is getting set to fulfill one of her career ambitions and pursue a professional boxing fight for the first time when she steps inside of the ring in her Native hometown of Curitiba Brazil Sunday Sept. 25th against Multiple time World Contender Simone Silva as the Co main event of the Fight Music Show.
Taking place just 1 week later Bellator MMA will be in Southern California at the Long Beach Convention Center as Cris Cyborg’s teammate at Team Bodyshop A.J. Mckee will be facing UFC veteran Spike Carlyle in the Co Main Event of Bellator 286 while his father, the legendary Antonio Mckee will be making his return to the cage at 52 years of age in one of the nights featured fights.
The Media Day will feature a Boxing workout by Cris Cyborg, who will be fighting for the Fight Music Show Super Welterweight Professional boxing Championship when she faces Simone Silva a veteran of over 40 professional boxing fights. A tough and durable opponent, many have wondered why Cyborg did not select an athlete with less professional boxing experience on her resume.
Following the Workout from Cyborg, Bellator MMA superstars A.J. Mckee and father Antonio Mckee will lead through a short open MMA workout before the session will be turned over to members of the media for a Q&A featuring all three athletes. Unfortunately for fans the workouts are not open to the general public, however members of the media and those with a professional camera will be allowed access.
The full Event will take place inside Cris Cyborg’s private training facility located in Huntington Beach at 5842 McFadden Ave and will start at 1PM PST and is expected to last about an hour. Lunch will be provided for those who pre-register to attend.
