Anthony Joshua says fight with Deontay Wilder will happen in the UK Next

Anthony Joshua has a fight ahead of him against Joseph Parker, but that hasn’t stopped the talk of a SUPERFIGHT between the British star Anthony Joshua and the American Olympian Deontay Wilder. Wilder is the current WBC Heavyweight world Champion while Anthony Joshua holds the IBF and WBA Heavyweight World Championship. A bout between Wilder and Joshua would give Joshua an opportunity to become the first British Boxer to unify the Heavyweight world title and become undisputed since Lennox Lewis.

While the fight would be a BIG MONEY fight for boxing, outside of some conversation on social media, there has been no serious negotiations between the fighters. Joshua who is fighting WBO Champion Joseph Parker in Cardiff hopes the Wilder knows Joshua is a bigger deal in the UK than the American is in the USA.

Joshua speaking to to reporters said “If He was serious about the fight, we’d do serious negotiations. If Not, stop hooting and hollering because we’ll just freeze him out.” By Freeze him out, Joshua was referring to him running out of interesting opponents.

“I know where I am going with my career. If he wants to be a part of this and jump on the train and come to the UK, he has to be realistic and stop living the fantasy. This is all we are saying, be realistic in negotiations. What we’ve got to offer is going to be 10 times more in terms of financials–because that’s what it comes down to–than he’s looking at in America.”

Joshua will fight in front of a sold out crowd of 78,000 fans went on to say, “If he offered me 10 times more money to fight than what I am looking at in the UK, I would go there to fight him. But he is coming here. We are doing the offering, he hasn’t offered us. Take it or leave it.”

Recently rumors of Dana White offering Anthony Joshua a 500 million dollar multiple fight offer have floated on the Internet. White was spotted cage side at UFC 222 watching Deontay Wilder’s last fight.

To add to the rumors, Anthony Joshua ended his interview with this, “There’s a lot of bluster with Deontay but he’s not an idiot. He knows what he’s doing and he’s doing a good job in attracting people to fights, but I think this fight will be made a lot quicker than people think. I believe it will be in 2018. We’ll either fight once more in the interim or go straight to Wilder.”
