UFC traveled to Brazil for their 231’s fight night event with the main event placing Brazilian Jailton Almeida against hard hitting American favorite Derick Lewis. Almeida used his superior wrestling and positional grappling to dominate a 5 round victory against the American fan favorite.
History was made by Angela Hill who was able to secure her 10th UFC Strawweight victory, the former Invicta FC Strawweight Champion in now tied for most career wins in the division with Carla Esparza and Joanna Jerdzejeck.
Perhaps the biggest upset came from Nicola Dalby who defeated Gabriel Bonfim a solid Brazilian Blue Chip prospect via TKO in the 2nd round. Caioa Borralho, Eduarda Moura, and Rodrigo Nasciemnto also picked up victories in Brazil.
