
Sara McMann most recently completed her UFC contract when Aspen Ladd failed to make weight and the UFC paid McMann completing the final fight on her contract. A Free Agent McMann was highly sought after by both the PFL and Bellator MMA in addition to a probable offer from the UFC to return to their fledgling Bantamweight division. McMannn who is 13-6 as a pro in MMA is a Silver Medalist at the Olympics and became the first USA Female to win a Silver medal for Freestyle wrestling at the Olympics during the 2004 Athens Summer Games in Greece.
Since winning a Silver medal at the Olympics, McMann has been a blue chip prospect in the sport of MMA facing Tony Evinger at Titan FC before signing with ProElite, Invicta FC, and Strikeforce before an eventual run in the UFC which saw her face Ronda Rousey for the UFC Championship in only her 7th professional fight.
McMann joins top female Ukrainian fighter Kateryna Shakalova as new signings to an already stacked division which includes Cat Zingano (owns a victory over Amanda Nunes), British World Judokan Leah McCourt, 2x World Boxing Champion Arlene Blencowe, Irish Amateur champion Sinead Kavanagh and several other top talents making Bellator MMA the #1 Female Featherweight division in the sport of Mixed Martial Arts.
