The Professional Fighters League is back with the 2nd fight card featuring the 1st round matchups of the 2025 PFL World Tournament. Taking over Orlando Florida the PFL 2025 World Tournament will showcase the men’s bantamweight and women’s flyweight division this week as Leandro Higo will take on Maricirley Alves after Josh Rettinghouse was not cleared to fight.
Higo who was a standout with Bellator MMA will be fighting Alves in his promotional debut. Higo is coming off mack to back wins over Nikita Mikhailov and James Gallagher and is hoping for one last run for glory in the PFL world tournament. Alves meanwhile is looking to rebound after a loss to Sarvarjon Khamidov stopped his 3 fight win streak.
WMMA OG and pioneer Liz Carmouche will make her 4th PFL fight as she takes on Ilara Joanne who most recently defeated Shanna Young in the PFL. The PFL World Tournament will stream on ESPN_ Friday April 11th. Justin Wetzell missed his contracted weight weighin in at 138.4 pounds for his fight against Kasum Kasumov at 136. The bout is a non tournament fight and Wetzell will be fined a percentage of his purse.
