The countdown is officially on. On August 22, I am making my return to the Professional Fighters League (PFL) cage at the Benchmark International Arena in Tampa Bay, Florida.
I have fought all over the world, but there is something incredibly special about returning to Florida. The energy from the East Coast fans, especially the massive Brazilian community here is unmatched.
This camp has been one of the most intense of my entire life because the stakes have never been higher. I am looking for my 30th professional MMA victory, a historic milestone that no other female fighter in a major promotion has ever reached.
But to secure that number 30, I have to go through a serious warrior.
The Threat to My Legacy: Ketlen Vieira
Let’s be completely honest: Ketlen Vieira is a dangerous opponent. She isn’t coming to Tampa to lay down; she is coming to ruin my legacy and take my PFL World Championship.
Transitioning straight from the top of the UFC’s bantamweight division to make her PFL debut at featherweight, Ketlen is younger, hungry, and has spent years fighting the absolute best in the world. She has a rock-solid 16-5 record, elite grappling from her world-class Nova União roots, and a reputation for being incredibly durable with most of her losses are razor-thin, split decisions against elite champions.
Ketlen is a legitimate top-10 fighter globally who holds career wins over multiple former world champions. She presents a massive threat to everything I’ve built because she has the perfect style to test my limits. If I am not perfectly sharp on August 22, she has the tools to alter the course of my career. I respect her, I respect her team, and that is exactly why I am training like the challenger.
