
Gervonta Davis is suppose to be the Mayweather protege and showed everyone why as he picked up the WBA Super 130 pounds championship keeping his impressive 20-0 record in tact while adding another KO to his streak.

Davis was able to drop Cuellar three times in the third round before referee Bejy Esteves Jr stopped the fight at 2:45 of the third round once Cuellar dropped for the third time. Davis only 23 years old became a two time world champion adding the WBA belt to his resume.
Cuellar of Argentina lost via KO for only the 2nd time in his professional career, with his only other KO loss coming to Oscar Escandon back in 2011. the IBF stripped Davis of his world title Aug 26th when he missed weight on the undercard of the Conor McGregor Vs Floyd Mayweather fight.
Speaking about the Mayweather undercard fight,“On the undercard of Mayweather-McGregor fight, I just wasn’t focused,” Davis said. “It was the second time fighting on his card, so it got to my head and it showed. After the fight, I went home and talked to my team and we decided it was time to leave Baltimore. I’m focused and it showed because I’m a champ again.”
