If you needed even more proof that the UFC system of Ranking and it’s ability to be used for matchmaking is flawed, just look at the recent updates to the list following the UFC Fight Night 128 event from Atlantic City which aired on FS1.

The main event saw an impressive and dominate performance by Kevin Lee as he took out top contender Edson Barboza in the 5th round by TKO moving him into 5th on the overall ranking for Lightweight. In an interesting decision, the writers responsible for voting moved Conor McGregor up a position in the Pound For Pound rankings despite him not having an actual UFC fight in almost 2 years into a tie with current heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic for third place.
While McGregor has lost in his career, most recently to Nate Diaz and hasn’t been active inside the UFC cage the current UFC Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov has remained undefeated, and was declared UFC Undisputed champion at 155lbs by beating Al Iaquinta by decision. Remarkably somehow the writers responsible for the rankings and the financial rewards that insures moved Khabib Nurmagomedov down a slot in the P4P rankings placing him 9th. Cris Cyborg is the only female fighter to make the top 10 pound for pound fighters list coming in at number 10 after previously being as high as 9. See complete results Here
