The UFC’s most recent trip to Atlanta gave us a rare insight into fighter pay that the public doesn’t regularly receive anymore. While most commissions have stopped revealing fighter pay, Atlanta is one of the few athletic commissions which still releases the contracted fight purse for combative sporting events held in their state.
The Georgia Athletic Commission confirmed salaries for UFC Atlanta and they ranged from 10,000$-5000,000$ with the highest purse being female fighter and former UFC Champion Rose Namajunas. Rose Namajunas opponent Miranda Maverick was contracted for $125,000 in her losing performance.
These fight purses are only the disclosed fight monies and do not include any fight of the night bonuses or other performance incentives that could be built into the fighter agreement. In the Co Main event Kamaru Usman took him 300,000$ for his decision victory over Joaquin Buckley who earned a disclosed 150,000$
Cody Garbrandt revealed prior to his fight with Roani Barcelos that he had signed a new contract and his 275,000$ payday revealed the bump in financial security a new deal often brings as his opponent who won the fight as only paid 102,000$ with it coming in the form of 51,000 to show and an additional 51,000$ bonus for winning. Despite the increased size and popularity of the UFC it should be noted that there are some fighters on the standard 10,000$ to show and 10,000$ to win contract. The live ticket gate for UFC Atlanta sold over 17,000 tickets generating a gate of over 3.2 million dollars.
