The huge story from UFC 222 was the incredible performance by Brian Ortega. The Southern California native has a huge fan base, and an even better story. Growing up in a tough economic neighborhood filled with gang violence and street crime Brian Ortega was able to navigate all the distractions and is now the number 1 contender for Max Holloway’s UFC Featherweight World Championship.
Using his platform to help build a better community, Brian Ortega has created the Brian Ortega foundation which is a scholarship based program that will help pay tuition for at risk youth who could use the assistance.
Ortega witnessed first hand the benefits of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and is now looking to pass that passion on to new lives. The T-City scholarship program, and it appears that Hollywood mega star Robert Downing Jr. loves the idea as he is supporting the foundation with his latest Instagram posting!
