Renan Ferreira wants Francis Ngannou rematch with PFL Lyon victory

Renan Ferreira faced former UFC Heavyweight Champion Francis Ngannou last year in the Battle of Giants fight card which took place in Riyadh Saudi Arabia and will be returning back to action for the first time Saturday night in Lyon France when he faces Team Emelianenko heavyweight fighter Vadim Nemkov for the inaugural PFL MMA Heavyweight Championship belt.

A winner of the PFL Heavyweight tournament Renan Ferreira now 36 years of age entered into his 2024 fight against Francis Ngannou as a significant underdog after impressively defeated Ryan Bader the former Bellator MMA Heavyweight champion during the Bellator MMA Vs PFL MMA fight card.   Ferreira was the first opponent for Francis Ngannou after he had two boxing fights and leaving the UFC as a Free Agent.

The bout which ended in the first round saw Ngannou land heavy punches from on top utilizing ground and pound however Ferreira looks to have made the adjustments needed to once again hold championship gold. His opponent Vadim Nemkov is a former Bellator MMA champion and a Rizin FF veteran who has not lost in 9 years.

“What is in the past, belongs in the past, I changed pretty much everything for the next fight but I see the past a sa lesson. I do not stay in the past.” Ferreira said while speaking to reporters in Lyuon France.  “In the last fight against Ngannou I made mistakes.  In a fight, you never know what is going to happen. You try to follow your strategy and the way you train but definitely for this fight I am well prepared. I know exactly what I go to do,

When asked if he would like a rematch The Problem said “Yes, definitely, that is at the top of my list.  Winning the belt and then challenging him because I believe we have unfinished business. I have the potential to finish him.  First Ferreira will need to focus on Vadim Nemkov however.   Fans in the USA wanting to watch PFL Lyon will need to download the ESPN App while Brazilian fans will be able to enjoy the fights live on Canal Combate.  Cris Cyborg will serve as the Co Main event when she faces the undefeated Sara Collins.
