Peter Murray the former CEO of the Professional Fighters League is not longer with the organization following a press release yesterday which stated that Murray has left the company. A founding CEO when the World Series of Fighting WSOF was rebranded in the the PFL MMA after being a fformer excutive at WME William Morris Edeavor. Murray oversay a litany of changes to the fight league and was a major part of the acquisition of Bellator MMA.
As a result of the PFL MMA acquisition of Bellator MMA, Cris Cyborg had the opportunity of having her bout in Riyadh Saudi Arabia against Larissa Pacheco promoted by Peter Murray. Cyborg who was an underdog going into the bout faced a 2x PFL MMA Tournament Champion who had won 10 consecutive fights with 8 of those victories being first round finishes. Cyborg would dominate the fight to capture her 5th promotional world championship winning a 5 round decision 4 rounds to 1 on all 3 judges score cards.
July of last year it was announced that Peter Murray would be shifting from the CEO roll into the international branch of the organization as he was replaced by John Martin who was the former CFO of Time Warner and a chairman for Turner.
