
Michael Chandler wants a return as Bellator Champion, and he proved he’s ready after an impressive performance against Brandon Girtz at Bellator 197. Chandler lost the belt against Brent Primus who was originally scheduled to rematch Brent Primus before injury removed him from the card.

The fight was in a standstill on the feet until Chandler anded the takedown and advanced to a mounted crucifix position before transitioning to an arm-triangle which Gritz chose to go to sleep from. Chandler has won 6 out of 7 fights and is probably next in line for a shot at the Bellator belt.
AJ McKee picked up a unanimous decision over former RFA champion Justin Lawrence winning each of the rounds. Mckee showed a good variety of striking and grappling together. McKee immediately called out James Gallagher of SBG after the fight. Also victories on the card was Kevin Ferguson JR, Baby Slice submitted Devon Brock with a RNC, Brock beat Royce Gracie’s son in his MMA debut.
