Max Holloways surpasses 7 hours of Octagon fight time with win at UFC Kansas City

Max Holloway might only be 31 years old, but he has joined an elite group of only 2 other fighters named Frankie Edgar and Jim Miller as athletes with over 7 hours of combined fight time inside of the UFC octagon.  Picking up a decision win over the previously undefeated Arnold Allen, Max Holloway also became the first UFC fighter to land over 3,000 significant strikes in his career.  With two defeats to Featherweight Champion Alexander Volkanovski Max Holloway is in a precarious position.

In the Co Main event Edson Barbosa landed a brutal KO Knee against  Billy Quarantillo while Ion Cutelaba scored a TKO win over Tanner Boser.  Pedro Munhoz got the decision over Chris Gutierrez and Rafa Garcia earned a decision over one of the longest tenured athletes on the UFC roster in Clay Guida.  Also picking up wins Bill Algeo, Brandon Royal, Zak Cummings, Gilian Robertson, Daniel Zellhuber, Denise Gomes, Gaston Bolanos, and Joselyne Edwards.

With several controversial decision on the night it was the judging of Kansas City that was most talked about as Joselyne Edwards was given a very controversial decision over Lucie Pudilova and Piera Rodriguez was left protesting the stoppage in her bout against Gilian Robertson as she proclaimed not to tap to a tightly secured armbar taking away her undefeated record. Following their fight both Zac Cummings and Ed Herman officially retired
