Despite Bellator Champion Series only having 8 events this year and advertising that each event would feature 2 world champions, it appears as though Cris Cyborg will not be making an appearance inside of the Bellator MMA Cage as part of the 2024 Champions Series.
While Cyborg has been out of the Bellator MMA cage since her Bellator 300 victory over Cat Zingano in San Diego last October, she has struggled to get activated again following the PFL merger with Bellator after the Viacom buyout.
Following a win over Olympic Silver medalist and former UFC title contender Sara McMann, McCourt was brought into the cage for a faceoff with Cyborg in a bout that ultimate PFL decided not to promote. McCourt will now face Australian Sara Collins who is unbeaten having won her first 5 professional fights. The fight card will be headlined by Johnny Eblen Vs Fabian Edwards.
Cyborg who was rumored to fight Larissa Pacheco after announcing a bout agreement had been signed, has not had any bout officially announced by the PFL leaving speculation as to wether Cyborg will compete for the PFL in 2024 now that it is so late in the year without a bout announced. Her time outside of the cage Cyborg has kept busy going 2-0 in Boxing competitions with 2 KO’s
