Gegard Mousasi has 49 professional MMA wins documented on his record and if it was up to him the 50th would come against Derek Brunson. Taking to Twitter Gegard Mousasi gave what he referred to as an “update” stating “PFL wants to fight me very soon against Derek Brunson. Derek refused to accept the fight again. He said he wanted nothing to do with it. 3x he has refused to fight me over the years. The fans lose. Let’s hope PFL can find me a MW.”
Mousasi has lost his last two MMA fights against Johnny Eblen and Fabian Edwards both by decision which snapped a 4 fight win streak. Derek Brunson meanwhile made his PFL debut against Ray Cooper III with a decision win after a TKO loss to Dricus Du Plessis and Jared Cannonier during his final 2 UFC bouts.
Currently there have been no PFL or Bellator MMA events announced for the 2024 year although there is speculation that March there could be a Bellator MMA bout in Ireland. While a Champion Vs Champion fight card has been rumored, Bellator MMA Champion Cris Cyborg has been very vocal that her next bout in MMA if she returns will be against Judo Kayla Harrison.
Currently Cris Cyborg is scheduled to fight Jan 19th in Temecula CA as the main event of WFC 163 against the #3 ranked female fighter in the USA for the sport of Boxing. Fans wanting to support the 16x MMA World Champion can get their Cris Cyborg Boxing Tickets here.
