Gamebred Bareknuckle MMA heavyweight tournament

Jorge Masvidal’s Gamebred FC has returned, this time with a bareknuckle MMA event in the Dominican Republic which was headlined by former UFC fighter Anthony Smith securing a finish against fellow UFC veteran Chase Sherman.  For Anthony Smith the win snapped a losing streak, and the veteran may have foudn a new home with Gamebred Fighting Championship.

With the event taking place in the Dominican Republic Anthony Smith took on Chase Sherman in the main event and used his jab to control the range sh0wing a significant difference in hand speed.  Overall Sherman was more of an opponent than manny expected as Smith picked him apart before bringing it to the mat and securing a first round rear nake choke submission. Sherman tried to use some leg kicks early but Lionheart looked sensational in the fight.  With the win, Anthony Smith advances in the Heavyweight tournament which will reward a $500,000 cash prize to the winner.

Thiago Santos picked up a dominant 1st round victory over former Nacao Cyborg fighter and One Championship veteran Guto Inocente in the co Main Event. Marreta got the takedown early and from halfguard with the underhook opnened up a significant cut over the eye before turning up the GNP finish. With his win he will advance in the same $500,000 tournament.

Other winnres included Elias Santos who pickked up a split decision over Landon Quinones.  Jhonasky Sojo defeated Charles Rosa with a decision.  Denis Petrov scored a first round TKO over Oscar Hierro Sosa.  Bradda Ray Cooper III defeated Glaucio Elizario with a first round TKO. Luis Pena scored a first round submission over CDarlos Alexandre.  Said Sowma the Bellator MMA veteran picked up a 2nd round TKO over his opponent Nikolay Kovalenko.  Michael Polanco defeated Trevor Schurpnel with a 2nd round submission and the opening fight of the night saw Santiago Soriano defeat Damaury Ramos with a first round TKO.
