After a hot 2-0 start in the sport of Professional Boxing in 2022, Cris Cyborg returned to MMA with a dominating 1st round KO performance over Cat Zingano at Bellator 300. Less than a month following that performance, Cris Cyborg announced her return to the sport of Professional Boxing against the undefeated Kelsey Wickstrum currently ranked #3 in the USA for Women’s Boxing.
The bout which will take place this Friday, Jan 19th inside of the Pechanga Casino as the main event for WFC 163 will showcase Cyborg in 6 rounds of professional Women’s Boxing scheduled for 2 minute rounds. Wickstrum who is a former Amateur Champion and owns a win over NorthEast Golden Glove Champion Stevie Jane Coleman and a KO victory over Sudana Moore during her last boxing performance.
Cyborg who attempted to secure a fight against Judo Kayla for the upcoming PFL X Bellator MMA fight card in Saudi Arabia joined Marc Raimondi of ESPN to talk about her return to Boxing, her MMA future, and more.
