Cris Cyborg continues to build an unmatched resume when it comes to Combat Sports. The 18x MMA World Champion has captured championship belts with PFL, Bellator, UFC, Invicta and Strikeforce making her the only fighter in Mixed Martial Arts with 5 promotional belts.
Undefeated while competing in Boxing, Cris Cyborg already an FMS Champion added her first sanctioned professional world championship belt to the resume with her recent win over Paulina Cardona to capture the WIBA Super Welterweight Championship in Curitiba Brazil. The WIBA belt has a long history in Women’s Boxing with previous champions including legends like Laila Ali, Holly Holm, Ann Wolfe, and Amanda Serrano.
Cyborg who was called out by Claressa Shields for a boxing fight back in 2021 took the microphone following her victory in Curitiba to issue a challenge to Claressa. “Now that I’ve got experience competing in Boxing, I’m ready to accept Claressa Shields Challenge. She wanted the fight at 154lbs, but to fight her I am willing to move up to 160lbs.” Cyborg went on to say that She would offer Claressa a 2 million dollar fight purse to fight her with the only stipulation that the fight has to occur before the end of 2026.
Claressa Shields is undefeated at 18-0 but has largely facing talent that is unknown to boxing fans, often forcing the opponents up in weight while competing for vacant belts. 2 million dollars would be double Claressa Shields previous highest fight purse which was 1 million dollars when she fought Savanah Marshall in 2022. Do you think Claressa Shields will accept Cris Cyborg’s 2 million dollar fight offer?
