Dillon Danis got his black belt under Marcelo Garcia and made a name for himself first in the BJJ world showcasing himself as a top brown belt before his promotion. In 2016 Danis started to work with SBG’s Conor McGregor and ahead of UFC 202 became his main grappling partner.
McGregor who recently was arrested in New York following an assault that occurred in the back of the Barclay’s loading dock was bailed out of jail with a 50,000 bail posted by Dillon Danis. While McGregor was rumored to be making an announcement of returning back to competition, the UFC has since distanced themselves from a date of return for McGregor.
Danis who faced a 2-3 fighter in his debut, pulled guard after being hit with a few good punches. From the guard position Dillon Danis was able to secure a submission via footlock against Kyle Walker at just 1:38 seconds of the first round picking up his MMA debut victory at Bellator 198 alongside the Fedor Emelianenko Vs Frank Mir bout! Conor was quick to post on Instagram how proud of Dillon he was!
