Carlos Prates came in red hot at UFC Perth as he faced Jack Della Maddalena as the main event of UFC Perth. Breaking down the former Welterweight Champion Prates used all types of Muay Thai weapons including his knees, elbows, kicks, to add to his punches hurting the Australian several times throughout the fight.
Della Maddalena eventually fell following a series of brutal leg kicks at which Prates jumped in with violent ground and pound forcing the ref to stop the fight. Prates landed some highlight level knees and elbows in a crowd entertaining fight. Following the performance he made sure to let everyone know that he wants a chance at UFC Welterweight gold.
at only 3:17 of the 3rd round with a KO victory Prates made it known that “I’m not here to play” ” I respect Jack, he’s a great champ but it’s just business. It’s part of the game. Jack is a great champ.”
before going on to say, “I need to ask something? who is next? In August I will be first in line watching Makhachev and Ian and I will be next. I am going to fight the winner.”
