It appears as though Canelo Alvarez has made the decision as to who he will dfend his undisputed super middleweight championship against. While many fans had hoped Canelo would fight David Benavidez it appears as though Canelo has went in a different direction.
The bout which is reportedly scheudled for the Tmobile arena in Las Vegas will be a dual platform PPV between DAZN and Amazon Prime on May 4th. Salvador Rodriguez of ESPN Knockout first reported the Canelo-Munguia matchup for May 4th.
Munguia is not the quality of David Benavidez, however he will be a game opponent for Canelo however many people feel Canelo is ducking the WBC Mandatory Challenger who is David Benavidez who has been chasing that bout for years. Fans are hoping a Benavidez/Canelo matchup can be made after Munguia.
Cris Cybog who has trained with Team Benavidez Boxing makes her return to the sport of professional Boxing April 27th with a main event appearance at Green Bay Fight Night in Wisconsin. Tickets are currently on Sale.
