Carlos Condit was originally scheduled to face Matt Brown, however when there was an injury the Brazilian Cowboy Alex Oliveira stepped in to take the fight on short notice. Condit who has a professional record of 30 wins and only 11 losses has been a perennial top 10 welterweight for the better part of a decade.
Fighting out of New Mexico Carlos Condit is a member of the Jackson Wink MMA team and has lost three in a row against Robbie Lawler, Demian Maia, and Neil Magny. Condit fought Magny the same night Cris Cyborg defeat Holly Holm at UFC 219.
Alex Oliveira that power striker from Brazil has a record of 17 wins against 5 losses. With a loss against Yancy Medeiros at UFC 218 Olex Oliveira took the fight on two weeks notice against Carlos Condit. Prior to the set back against Yancy Medeiros, Cowboy had won 4 in a row.
Oliveira landed an up kick in round 2 that sent Condit limp and Cowboy was able to secure a guillotine takedown for the victory! The first round was back and forth with Condit ending the round on top and probably behind ahead on the score cards at the start of round 2. Big win for Alex Cowboy Oliveira picking up the submission over Carlos Condit
