The on again-off again–now appears to be on again appearance of Vadim Nemkov on the Bellator MMA Dubai event with PFL is now officially booked. While multiple opponents such as Ante Delija and Corey Anderson were signed or rumored to be offered, ultimately Nemkov will face Tim Johnson in a Heavyweight bout as the final fight on his current Bellator MMA contract acquired by PFL.
Corey Anderson was willing to move up to Heavyweight for the trilogy with Anderson later calling Nemkov scared to take the fight. Anderson and Nemkov met in the finals of the Bellator MMA million dollar tournament and the bout ended as a NC due to a headbutt that Anderson accidentally landed. During the rematch Nemkov won a decision last April.
It is rumored to be Nemkov’s final fight on his existing promotional contract having some fans wondering if the Russian fighter will test the waters and look for a UFC contract. 18-2 as a professional and undefeated in Bellator MMA, Nemkov infamously fought Jiri Prochazka in the Rizin FF Grand Prix suffering a retirement loss following a 10 minuet first round.
