What an epic rematch between Joanna Jedrzejczyk and Rose Namajunas that took place at UFC 223 in Brooklyn New York at the Barclay’s Center. With wins over Juliana Lima, Claudia Gadelha, Carla Esparza, Jessica Penne, and Valerie Letourneau, Karolina Kowalkiewics, and Jessica Andrade– Joanna Jedrzejczyk tie the UFC Championship record with 5 title defenses a record shared with Ronda Rousey.

Losing the belt at UFC 217 by a TKO stoppage to Thug Rose Namajuna she blamed the loss on excessive weight loss and a poor recovery.  The immediate rematch was given to Joanna Jedrzejczyk and at UFC 223 she was beaten again.  Now 0-2 against Thug Rose Namajunas she was given 1 round out of the 5 rounds by the judges.

Thug Rose is 8-3 overall in MMA with her first title defense out of the way, Rose Namajunas could be facing Jessica Andrade, Claudia Gadehla, or a possible rematch against Karolina Kowalklewicz who she lost a split decision against at UFC 201.  With Claudia Gadehla getting set to face former UFC Champion Carla Esparza that could establish the divisions #1 contender.
