A sports fund which was created by the Saudi Arabia sovereign wealth fund called SRJ Sports Investments has now taken a minority stake in the Mixed Martial Arts MMA promotion Professional Fighters League, or PFL. SRJ investments will help build the PFL into a regional leader in the MENA region by launching a Middle East division which is scheduled to come in 2024 and will also bring the upcoming PFL Pay-Per-View Superfight events to be held in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Sources have stated that the caption influx is in upwards of 100 Million US Dollars and that the initial investment could be worth substantially more in the future. With no official date for the first Super Fight event the expectation is that it will take place in the first quarter of 2024. In a press release both Jake Paul and Francis Ngannou were mentioned as to having PPV fights for PFL.
With rumors of a possible PFL and Bellator MMA merger it will be interesting in the lead up to Bellator 300 planned for Oct. 7th in San Diego California if there are to be more big news announcements made by the PFL. In the meantime fans who are wanting to watch Cris Cyborg compete in possibly one of her final MMA fights can be sure to get tickets for Cyborg Vs Zingano HERE. Before any fights against Kayla Harrison, or Larissa Pachecho could happen, Cyborg must successfully get past #1 contender Cat Zingano.
