It appears that LFA champion Ricky Simon will be stepping up to fight Merab Dvalishvilli at UFC Glendale. The Iridium Sports managed athlete was rumored to have been signed by the UFC last week, and now sources close to the fighter are saying he will be stepping in to replace Augusto Mendes who was removed from the UFC Glendale Event after a failed sample was collected by USADA.
Simon is 21-1 as a pro and the LFA Bantamweight Title, a championship he won by beating UFC Veteran Chico Samus. Having already competed on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series, Simon was able to defeat Donovan Frelow by a split decision.

Merab Dvalishvili is 7-3 as a professional in MMA and the fighter from the country of Georgia trains out of the Serra-Longo Fight Team. Merab lost his UFC debut against Frankie Saenz at UFC Fight Night 123 by a split decision after running up a 7-2 record and winning the ROC Bantamweight belt.
