PFL Chicago bringing Brazilian Viviane Araujo out for a big fight against Shanna Young

Viviane Arajuo is a veteran of 13 UFC fights, having won 7 of them and was a staple inside of the Flyweight division.  Making her debut in the PFL MMA cage in Chicago she will be facing another tough veteran in Shanna Young in one of the evenings opening fights taking place at the Wintrust Arena.  Arajuo is looking to make a big first impression with her debut.

Yound is also a UFC veteran and had four UFC appearances during her run with the company picking up one win with the promotion.  Now heading back to the PFL after a win on the regional circuit she is looking to secure herself a long term position on the roster again.  Araujo is an experienced veteran with wins over Roxanne Modafferi, Alexis Davis, and 2x Invicta Fc champion Jennifer Maia.

“Looking at my history and seeing everything I built and achieved in the UFC, The experience and all the moments I had there, the evolution, it sure will help me arrive in the PFL to face the athletes that you are yet to come.  I know that there won’t be any easy girl there, that’s for sure, because it’s also high level MMA, a big promotion, but I’m super happy to be part of this and show my evolution. I want to get to the top of this organization as well. Top women fighters in the promotion include Liz Carmouche and Dakota Ditcheva.

Araujo is a durable opponent added to the division as all of her UFC losses came via decision including a war with Alexa Grasso and Natalia Silva.  Araunjo said she was “Super excited to put on a show for the fans” in the PFL.  “It was a great journey inside the UFC and I’m truly grateful for all the opportunities that made me get there and show my work. I had the opportunities to reach the top, unfortunately I was stopped, but now I ‘m having another opportunity in another promotion. I want to show that I’m ready and now I have experience. I’m in another moment of my life, of my career, so I’m very excited to show everything that is coming next.”
