Daniel Marcos went from DWCS to UFC Veteran, to future PFL MMA Star. Daniel Marcos fought out his UFC Contract and after completing his deal announced that he had signed a contract with the Professional Fighters League PFL. Born in Peru the bantamweight is expected to compete at the top of an already stacked division that has yet to name a champion since the PFL MMA and Bellator merger.
No announcement was made about who Daniel Marcos would face in his promotional debut. “Sonora” made his DWC debut in 2022 with a win over Brandon Lewis on Dana White’s Contender Series before going 6-1 inside of the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
The professional fighters league acquired the Bellator MMA roster of fighters and has since rebranded from an MMA tournament base into a super fight league where the best fighters are facing the best fighters. Fighters like Sergio Pettis, Raufeon Stots, and Magomed Magomedov have joined a new stable of prospects like Mitch McKee and Sarvarjon Khamidov to establish itself as one of the deepest talent divisions with the promotion.
How do you think the UFC fighter will do in the PFL? Previously fighters who have left the UFC to fight for PFL have struggled including fighters like Anthony Pettis, Thiago Santos, and Bryan Battle but with Daniel Marcos the PFL is signing one of the top international prospects. Cris Cyborg is expected to make her return to the PFL MMA later this summer with possible opponents including Julia Budd, Leah McCourt or fresh UFC free agent Ketlen Vieira.
