21 and 0 no more…Naoya Inoue’s Jab and ultimately his power punch proved to be too much as the Japanese fighter claimed the WBO and WBC Junior Featherweight titles with his 8th round TKO victory over Stephen Fulton of Philadelphia, PA USA.
With the win Naoya Inoue has placed himself at top many of the mystical “pound-for pound” discussions. Fighting at 122lbs for the first time he dominated the first 7 rounds before crushing Fulton with a vicious right hand dropping Fulton twice before the ref had seen enough.
With the win Inoue is now 25-0 with 22 KO’s on his record and has become a 4 division champion. Winning his first belt at 108lbs, this most recent display at 122 sounds earned him both the WBO and WBC belts before electing Marlon Tapales into the ring who holds the WBA and IBF titles at 122lbs. The pair are expected to face later in the year.
