Max Holloway retires The Korean Zombie with UFC Fight Night 225 victory

The UFC was back in Singapore with a stacked Fight Night event as perennial UFC top Featherweight faced The Korean Zomie Chan Sung Jung in an instant classic that showcased back-and-forth striking displaying the true toughness of both fighters.  Dropped once in the first round TKZ used his aggressive style to start the 2nd round charging forward until a perfectly timed right hand by Max Holloway finished the bout.  Following the loss, Chan Sung Jung removed his gloves,  leaving them in the cage symbolizing his retirement from Mixed Martial Arts competition.

The Co Main event featured an older Anthony Smith pick up a close decision over Ryan Spann while UFC fan favorite Giga Chikadze made a successful return to the cage after more than a year and half outside of comeptition.  Using strong kids, Giga broke Alex Caceres arm with a well timed kick.  Caceres would go on to fight 2 more rounds with the broken arm to lose a decision.

Other big winners at UFC FN 225 included Erin Blanchfield remaining undefeated over former title contender Taila Santos. Australian Junior Tafa picked up a KO win while Waldo Cortes Acosta picked up a KO win at heavyweight to improve to 10-2 while Kenan Song scored a decision over Rolando Bedoya
