The made up belt created to help promote fighters who are not champions in their own weight categories, better known as the “BMF Belt” now has two champions which includes Jorge Masvidal and Justin Gaethje.
Gaethje put together a highlight performance after a slow first round by ending the fight in dramatic fashion with a vicious head kick over Dustin Poirier at UFC 291. The fight was a rematch in which Poirier won the first fight and now Gaethje has taken the second.
With he win Gaethje is hoping to get another chance at the lightweight belt in the UFC which is currently held by Champion Islam Makhachev who will defend his belt against Charles Oliveira at UFC 294 in Abu Dhabi.
