
Global Fight League continues to make announcements as they most recently released a roster featuring 60 fighters in a list that includes 16 different nations. The GFL is a new team based concept to MMA where fighters will be drafted to represent certain teams during a point scoring format which will feature teams advancing towards a championship.
While the IFL has done team formats previously, however the Global Fight League will be the first time fans ahve seen a Co-Ed team based MMA league. GFL Founder and Commissioner Darren Owen had this to say about the announcement “We are proud to be the first professional organization where men and women compete on the same teams and share revenue streams equally.” going on to say “The incredible drawing power, athleticism, and competitiveness of the world’s best female fighters will be pivotal to our success. This groundbreaking approach represents a new era for MMA, where male and female athletes share equally in the leagues achievements.
two of the more premier recognizable names included former Bellator MMA Champion and PFL contender Julia Budd, UFC turned BKFC fighter Paige VanZant, former Invicta Champion Tonya Evinger, former Cage Warriors champion Pannine Kianzad and more.
