The Cannibal as he is passionately nicknamed picked up the UFC Flyweight World Championship with is performance at UFC 290 securing his 2nd career win over Brandon Moreno. While technically the first time Alexandre Pantoja was ruled an exhibition as it took place on the ultimate fighter his win in 2018 at UFC FN 129 was official.
In a fight of the night Pantoja and Moreno went back and forth until The Cannibal had done enough to take the split decision victory over the reigning Mexican Champion giving Brazil their first UFC Champion now that Amanda Nunes has retired and been removed from the rankings.
Other winners included Alexandre Volkanovski over Yair Rodriquez, DDP with a TKO win over Robert Whittaker, Dn Hooker with a Split Decision win over Jalin Turner and Bo Nickel with a 38 TKO of previously undefeated Valentine Woodburn.
