Madness!! That is the only way to describe what the upcoming 2025 PFL tournament is going to be like with the win-or-go home structure. A true 8 man tournament will kick off with the winners receiving half a million dollars in bonus pay for their efforts. The Professional Fighter’s league announced all opening round fights will take place in Orland Florida with a residency at Universal Studios.
The welterweight tournament will feature three former Bellator champions in Jason Jackson, Andrey Koreshkov, and Logan Storly with 2024 PFL finalist Magomed Umalatov and Mukhaad Berkhamov, Florim Zendeli, Giannis Bachar, and Masayuki Kikuiri completing the 8 competitors at 170lbs.
In the 145lbs featherweight division 2023 PFL Champion Jesus Pinedo will be in a bracket with former Bellator MMA title challenger Jeremy Stephenx, PFL standout Gabriel Braga, Adam Borics, Covid Khaybulaev, Yves Landu, Nathan Kelly, and Tae Hyun Kim. The featherweight bracket will not feature any American fighter.
PFL welterweight and featherweight will start April 11th. Cris Cyborg had this to say about the win or go home format, “I think this is the roots of MMA and prize fighting. I love seeing them do away with points. This is a real grand prix style tournament with some great talent.”
