Dustin Poirier returns after UFC 318 loss to Max Holloway

Max Holloway avoided being on the wrong side of history, as a loss to Dustin Poirier at UFC 318 would have made him the first fighter to go 0-3 in two different trilogy fights for the UFC promotion.   With the decision victory  in New Orleans Max Holloway sent Dustin Poirier into retirement following back-to-back losses after facing Islam Makhachev for the UFC Championship belt in 2024.

22-9-0-1 during his 32 fight UFC career, Dustin Poirier had huge fights that made a big impact on the UFC fans. Wins over Michael Chandler, Conor McGregor, Dan Hooker, Eddie Alvarez, Max Holloway, Justin Gaethje, Anthony Pettis, Jim Miller,  Diego Brandao and more.   A veteran of the WEC Poirier joined the UFC after their acquisition of the promotion.

Paulo Costa defeated Roman Kopylov and Daniel Rodriquez put on a fight of the night performance against Kevin Holland. Patricio Pitbull earned his first UFC victory over Dan Ige and asked to fight Aaron Pico. Michael Johnson the veteran was the biggest underdog on the fight card but that did not stop him from beating Daniel Zellhuber by decision.

Brendand Allen and Marvin Vettori finally settled their beef following a casino gambling floor brawl last year with Brendan Allen picking up a decision victory over Vettori. Australia’s Jimmy Crute secured an Armbar to win his fight over Marcin Prachnio. Also picking up the win was Las Vegas Fight House Alumni Brunno Ferreira who moved to 14-2 with his win over Jackson McVey.
