It was an unfortunate night for Fedor Emelianenko fight fans as The Last Emperor was unable to create one last memory in a career of legendary moments when he rematched Ryan Bader for the Bellator MMA Heavyweight Championship Belt. Suffering his 2nd loss at the hands of Ryan Bader the GOAT at Heavyweight Fedor officially left the gloves in the center of the ring in from of a near capacity crowd inside the LA Forum.
In the Co Main Event Johnny Eblen proved he might just be the best middleweight in the sport with a dominate performance against Anatoly Took that showed a great pacing and good combination of boxing blended with high level wrestling transitions. Eblen who is only 31 years of age is currently 13-0 with wins over John Salter, Gegard Mousasi and Anatoly Took in his last 3 performances.
Bellator 290 main card was broadcasted on CBS with the event kicking off with Brennan Ward getting a 2nd round TKO victory over Sabah Homasi. Other standout performances of the night included Lorenz Larkin KO of the year elbow against previously undefeated Mukhamed Berkhamov, Neiman Gracie and Jaylon Bates Dec wins and Christopher Gonzalez picking up the TKO win over Max Rohskopf.
Following the fight, Cyborg joined Fedor at the press conference where she spoke to the MMA legend and Heavyweight GOAT Fedor Emelianenko opening her heart and giving appreciation for how he inspired her own training and career. It was a great embrace between two of the sports most legendary competitors.
