Cris Cyborg looks to make Combat Sports History

Saturday night in her hometown of Curitiba Brazil, Cris Cyborg has a chance to make combat sports history as the first fighter Male or female to hold a major world championship belt in professional boxing and MMA at the same time. An absolute legend in Combat Sports Cris Cyborg is a 2x IBJJF World Champion competing in the kimono in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and an 18x Mixed Martial Arts Champion.

Having won World Championships in MMA with 5 different promotions during Cris Cyborg’s 21 years of professional fighting she has won a world championship in every major organization including the UFC, PFL, Bellator MMA, Invicta FC, and Strikeforce.

Undefeated while competing in Boxing, Cris Cyborg captured the FMS Brazilian National Championship in her professional debut when she defeated Simone Silva with an 8 round decision. With 5 straigh knockouts Cris Cyborg is looking to add the prestigious WIBA championship to her resume this Saturday when she faces Paulina Cardona at 154lbs.

Cardona is a veteran of over 70 professional boxing fights and similar to Cris Cyborg has more than 20 years of combat fighting experience. Cyborg who is currently the PFL MMA World Champion at 145lbs has not lost a professional fight in MMA or Boxing in 7 years.

With a victory at Nacao Cyborg 15, Cris Cyborg has an opportunity to be the only fighter in the history of combat sports to hold a world title in both Boxing and MMA. WIBA championship belt has been held by such Women’s Boxing legends as Laila Ali, Holly Holm, Amanda Serrano, and Anne Wolfe.
